BRP REFINES 2011 CAN-AM SPYDER ROADSTER LINE-UP, ADDS ULTRA LUXURIOUS RT LIMITED
Valcourt, Québec September 1, 2010 – After an outstanding launch of the Can-Am Spyder RT touring roadster last season, BRP turns its attention to refinement, pulse-quickening style and unmatched luxury for its 2011 Can-Am Spyder model line.
New for 2011 is the Spyder RT Limited roadster, an ultra-luxurious touring model with an integrated GPS, semi-rigid travel bags, travel cover and striking Pearl White coloration. This model year, BRP designers also made the top-of-the-line Spyder RS-S sport roadster even more aggressive with two new two-tone colour schemes and an array of blacked-out components. In addition to new packages and colorations, BRP engineers refined the entire line-up to make the Spyder roadster experience easier, more comfortable and more fun.
"Listening and responding to the feedback of our consumers and dealers is an important part of who we are at BRP,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president and general manager, North America division. “The rapidly growing group of Can-Am Spyder owners and dealers are not shy about sharing their ideas and suggestions, and our product development team put their feedback at the heart of the 2011 Spyder roadsters.”
On the market for more than three years, the Can-Am Spyder roadster is a global phenomenon, distributed through authorized BRP dealers in over 58 countries.
With its unique Y-architecture – two wheels in front, one in back – the Can-Am Spyder roadster is a totally unique way to experience the freedom of open air riding. The stability of the three-wheel design and an automotive-derived BOSCH-engineered vehicle stability system (VSS) that integrates anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control, enables the driver to have an exhilarating open-air experience with unmatched peace-of-mind – be they novice or powersports veteran.
Catering to the long-distance rider wanting to sacrifice nothing for comfort and style is the new Can-Am Spyder RT Limited feature package. It starts with all the luxury features of the Spyder RT-S package, such as premium audio system and adjust-on-the-fly rear air suspension, and adds a handlebar-mounted Garmin Zumo 660 GPS, four custom-fit semi-rigid travel bags and a travel cover. A striking Pearl White colour and specially embroidered seat finish off what is a luxurious factory offering in riding.
For roadster sport enthusiasts, BRP designers make the styling of the top-of-the-line Can-Am Spyder RS-S even more aggressive. Both new metallic colour choices – Alloy Orange and Pure Magnesium – are complemented with a black two-tone colour scheme and a host of black elements, including six-spoke alloy wheels, fenders and carbon-black aluminum components.
Several other 2011 Can-Am Spyder RS and Spyder RT models feature new colour choices, most notably the addition of Viper Red as an option for the Spyder RT-S package.
“When you’re riding any Spyder roadster model, you can feel the excitement its design generates with people all around the world,” said Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager, International division. “Our designers are constantly working on new colours, trims and accessories that will keep that intense emotional connection people have with the Spyder; it can be seen in the new look of the RS-S and elegance of the RT Limited models.”
BRP’s Can-Am Spyder development team also focused on key refinements. A new calibration for the front shocks on Spyder RT models reduces body roll, adding even more confidence in corners. Revisions to the windshield and deflectors keep RT drivers and passengers cooler in warm conditions without reducing protection. And the hood of Spyder RS roadsters can now be opened with just one hand and the engine running. Every roadster is improved in some way for 2011.
BRP also presents the 2011 edition of its Can-Am Spyder Parts, Accessories and Riding Gear collections. Whether for long or short rides, BRP takes the worry out of packing with its new and expanded Can-Am Spyder storage solutions. Spyder RT riders will be able to add more eye-catching style to their mounts with 18 new chrome accessories and HID Xenon lights. Customized style will be a cinch for long distance riders with the RT-622 trailer's new colours.
High style and leading edge technology also meet in the 2011 Can Am Spyder clothing line-up, with the revolutionary Kavalier jacket as the perfect case in point. This jacket offers body temperature regulation with a combination of Sympatex, Outlast and UV reflection technologies; 100% water and wind resistance without compromising breathability; and abrasion resistance with a mix of Cordura 500 and 1000, and stitch-free Super fabric. These products and the complete line-up will be available at Can-Am Spyder dealers as well as online, starting in November 2010.

CBR® Racing Cycle Cover (for indoor use). Carbon-Fiber Accents. Carbon Fiber License Plate Frame. Outdoor Cycle Cover.
Breakthrough Braking
The CBR600RR's Combined ABS is the first of its kind on a Supersport machine. The experts are unanimous: brakes like these are a huge step forward. They love them, and you’re going to love them even more. Find out how this revolutionary feature works.
Honda Electronic Steering Damper
Compact, unobtrusive and there when you need it, the (HESD) helps maintain smoothly predictable high-speed handling and low-speed maneuverability. It's a huge breakthrough in predictable, responsive handling.
A Leader on the track and off
The CBR600RR flat out OWNS the World Supersport Championship. Follow Honda's string of victories and catch up on Team Honda's racing highlights, including classes like MotoGP and Moto2 as well.
Combined Anti-Lock Braking (C-ABS) All-new , electronically controlled Combined ABS distributes brake force over both wheels, helping to maintain braking confidence in less than ideal conditions. Electronic measurement of rider input on each brake lever permits application of only the front or rear brake in some cases, while the system combines both brakes in others.
Unit Pro-Link Suspension By eliminating the frame-mounted top shock mount, Unit Pro-Link isolates the chassis from bumps, resulting in more precise handling and better traction. Developed on Honda's championship-winning MotoGP bikes, it's a perfect example of the CBR's superior engineering.
Centrally Located Fuel Tank The centrally located fuel tank increases mass centralization for a more compact frame design.
Dual-Stage Fuel Injection - Two sets of injectors per cylinder ensure both low- and high-rpm performance. You get near instantaneous high-rpm response, along with great low-rpm metering and clean running.
Line-beam Headlights - Line-beam headlight features two-piece reflector design utilizing two H7 bulbs for optimum light distribution and unique compact design. The result: the headlight helps you see better, and also helps make you visible to traffic.
Ram Air - Wind resistance is a sportbike's enemy. The CBR600RR takes that high-pressure air and channels it through the ram air ducts mounted under the fairing's chin to help boost engine performance.
Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) Inverted Fork - The HMAS cartridge fork features an exclusive internal piston construction. The innovative design employs smaller-diameter pistons to keep oil velocity high for improved damping characteristics and an expanded range of adjustability. The result: you get more precise suspension performance, especially over smaller surface irregularities.
Radial Mounted Front-Brake Calipers - The CBR600RR's radial-mounted monoblock front-brake calipers are stiffer, for better brake feel and performance. Each caliper uses four chromium-plated aluminum pistons that squeeze lightweight 310mm floating discs for exceptional stopping power.

Both new metallic colour choices. Alloy Orange and Pure Magnesium are complemented with a black two-tone colour scheme and a host of black elements, including six-spoke alloy wheels, fenders and carbon-black aluminum components.
This jacket offers body temperature regulation with a combination of Sympatex‡, Outlast‡ and UV reflection technologies; 100% water and wind resistance without compromising breathability; and abrasion resistance with a mix of Cordura‡ 500 and 1000, and stitch-free Super‡ fabric. These products and the complete line-up will be available at Can-Am Spyder dealers as well as online, starting in November 2010.

2011 Ducati Streetfighter PRESS RELEASE
Updates for Superbike, Monster and Streetfighter
With an impressive exhibition presence of approximately 400m2, stand D-040 in hall 8 of Cologne's INTERMOT 2010 show now plays host to exciting new arrivals in the Superbike family in addition to new colours and updates for both the Streetfighter and Monster range. With new models, accessories and apparel, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer from Bologna is showing a wide range of new 2011 products at this major international show.
"We decided to consolidate our presence here in Cologne because we believe in the importance of this exhibition event, which opens the European motor show season," stated Gabriele Del Torchio, President of Ducati Motor Holding, during the opening press conference. "Our presence at the show is proof of our commitment to customers in Germany and northern Europe, and underlines our aim to expand in Germany, which is the second most important market in Europe for Ducati. For this reason we decided to preview here some of the new products scheduled for 2011, such as the new additions to the Superbike family with the 848EVO and 1198 SP, and new liveries for the Monster and Streetfighter models."
Gabriele Del Torchio also commented on the results of the first eight months of 2010: "Despite a shrinking global motorcycle market, we have used Ducati's product policy and the quality of its distribution network to improve both our market share, now at 8.5%, and also to increase our sales by 5% compared to this period 2009."
A huge attendance is expected at the German show and visitors to the Ducati stand are sure to admire the innovative and ground-breaking Multistrada 1200, which made an immediate impact on the market upon debut in March 2010. The current model will not undergo any changes for 2011, confirming its proven design and high standard of quality. INTERMOT is also the first European event to celebrate the Multistrada's victory at the "Pike's Peak International Hillclimb", the famous annual race held high in the Colorado mountains, where riders have to quickly adapt to changing road surfaces. The Multistrada on which American, Greg Tracy, took victory has been specially flown in to Cologne from the US so that fans can share in this major celebration and see further proof of the Multistrada 1200's incredible versatility.
Important additions to the Ducati Superbike family are on show in an exclusive preview of the 2011 range, including the new 848EVO which boasts 140hp and is equipped with Brembo Monobloc callipers and steering damper. The performance-enhanced model celebrates the INTERMOT show by revealing a stunning new "arctic white" livery with sporty red wheels and red frame.
The standard 1198 is also ready to satisfy an ever more demanding market, with the addition of Ducati Traction Control (DTC), the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) and the brand new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) fitted as standard equipment on all versions. For 2011, the improved 1198 is joined by the exciting new 1198 SP, which enhances the previous 'S' version by rolling out equipped with DTC, DQS, DDA, Ohlins TTX rear suspension, slipper clutch and aluminium fuel tank in addition to the usual Ohlins front suspension, forged Marchesini wheels and lightweight carbon fibre components.
The 2011 Streetfighter S looks impressive in its new colour schemes of red with red frame or diamond black with racing black frame, both with black wheels. A black radiator cover on all versions completes the Streetfighter's aesthetic updates.
Enhanced comfort and safety, in addition to new colour schemes, headline the main updates to Ducati's naked icon, the Monster. The entry level 696 gets new 43mm Marzocchi forks and enhanced ergonomics, including 20mm higher handlebars and a new rear sub-frame designed to accept the user-friendly passenger grab-rail kit available as a Ducati Performance accessory. The Monster 696 presents the two new colour schemes of "dark stealth" and "stone white", perfectly complementing the new matte chrome handlebar finish. The Monster 796, which was launched in April 2010 as an early entry model year 2011, also adopts Marzocchi front suspension and continues its incredible success. Along with the Monster 1100, the 696 and 796 complete the 2011 range, confirming the family's status as a style and design icon, backed-up by 17 years of Ducati Monster heritage.
INTERMOT will be open to the public until Sunday, 10 October.

2011 Yamaha Raider (XV1900) model Features
Fuel Consumption * 18kpl/51mpg(Imp), Fuel injected 1854cc V-twin,Superb handling, incredible attention to detail
ENGINE
High-performance, 1854cc (113 cubic inch) air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 4 valves per cylinder, 48°, V-twin powerplant produces massive torque and class leading acceleration from very low rpms. Maximum torque occurs at 2,500 rpm while maximum power occurs at 4,500 rpm, providing exciting acceleration with great pulse and torque feel. Traditional pushrod valve actuation keeps engine height down for a lower centre of gravity and ensures more uniform heat dissipation due to absence of a cam chain case. A lower centre of gravity helps to insure light, easy handling. Four-valve cylinder heads provide optimal breathing efficiency for great power delivery at all rpms. The two spark plugs per cylinder means faster, more complete combustion for maximum power output. Cylinder heads utilizes a pent roof combustion chamber design and features an oil passage near the exhaust valve seat to improve cooling and durability. The heads also feature engine mounting points on each side of the head for increased chassis rigidity for exceptional handling. Large size valves increase engine horsepower and torque. The intake valves are 36mm in diameter while the exhaust valves are 31mm. Specially designed valve train includes short design intake and exhaust rocker arms that reduce inertia during high-rpm use. High performance spec twin, crankcase-mounted, high-lift cams ensure strong torque and class leading acceleration. Mechanical centrifugal decompression mechanism located in each of the exhaust camshafts, insures fast, easy starts. Hydraulic valve lifters driven by the twin camshafts deliver exceptional performance and significantly reduce maintenance and tune-up requirements. The crankshaft is a single pin design, providing that special V-twin sound and pulse feel. Optimized flywheel mass and "damper-less" crankshaft allows the rider to feel the directness of the engine's power. For each rotation of the rear wheel, in 5th gear, the crank spins 3.14 times providing an outstanding rear wheel driving force feeling to the rider. Dual balancers reduce vibration for exceptional rider and passenger comfort. The balancers are positioned on either end of the crankshaft to reduce vibration and to minimize the size of the engine cases. The balancer is designed to reduce vibration while still allowing that classic V-twin pulse feel. 3-axis crankcase layout means the crankshaft, main axle and drive shaft are specially arranged to minimize the size of the engine cases and centralize mass. The dry sump oil lubrication system has been optimized to ensure maximum lubrication and cooling. Special oil nozzles direct oil at the bottom of the pistons to cool and lubricate them. Dry sump system means a more compact engine design since the oil tank is not part of the engine, which lowers the centre of gravity for great handling and a light feel. Special "dual chamber" crankcase design. The front section is for the crank assembly while the rear is for the transmission. Two, 3-rotor high capacity oil pumps optimizes oil flow in each of the two main sections of the engine. Huge 100mm bore ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation, reduce weight, reduce friction and increase cylinder service life. Large-diameter pistons are both durable and lightweight. Yamaha's exclusive "controlled forged construction" keeps the pistons light for faster response and to accommodate higher rpms with reduced vibration and less reciprocating mass. The pistons feature an Alumite coating to reduce friction. Cooling fin thickness and depth is optimized for maximum heat dissipation, thereby eliminating the need for liquid cooling, while maintaining that traditional, stylish air-cooled engine appearance. Each cooling fin is specially polished to create shining highlights that change with the angle of the light. 43mm, twin-bore, downdraft throttle body fuel injection (FI) with throttle position sensor (TPS) ensures great throttle response and maximum power throughout the rev range. This system is a "closed loop" system, since it utilizes an oxygen sensor in the exhaust to monitor the concentration of oxygen and adjust the FI system if necessary. The benefits of fuel injection include chokeless operation, increased fuel economy, instant throttle response and reduced emissions. The 12-hole, 2-directional Mikuni fuel injectors produce a wide spray pattern for complete cylinder filling. This special spray pattern combined with the dual spark plug heads ensures complete combustion for maximum power. An Idle Speed Control (ISC) has been adopted to ensure stable idling performance. High capacity electronic fuel pump is located in the sub fuel tank under the seat. State-of-the-art Electronic Control Unit (ECU) ensures precisely metered fuel delivery and optimal ignition spark control using 3D mapping for each cylinder. 3.5 litre dual inlet air filter box features one inlet at the front and one at the rear of the airbox for maximum breathing efficiency. This design not only maximizes air flow but also reduces weight and allows for a more open appearance at the steering head area. A viscous paper type air filter is used. Air Induction System (AIS) injects fresh oxygen at the exhaust port to ensure complete combustion thereby reducing harmful exhaust emissions (HC & CO) while a special air cut valve reduces backfiring when decelerating or coasting off throttle. High-performance, 2-into-1-into-2 exhaust system features large size header pipes for maximum flow. Dual 3-way honeycomb matrix catalyizers reduce harmful exhaust emissions. The stylish dual muffler helps to boost torque and horsepower while producing a throaty, V-twin growl. Heat shields protect the rider and passenger from hot components. The exhaust system also features a lightweight titanium EXUP exhaust power valve most commonly found on high performance sport bikes. The EXUP system not only provides crisp throttle response and eliminates 'flat spots" but also improves acceleration, reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions too. Smooth-shifting, 5-speed transmission features optimized gear ratios for both strong low rpm acceleration and relaxed highway cruising. 5th gear is an overdrive gear for reduced engine rpms at highway speeds for maximum riding comfort. Heavy duty 10 plate clutch is designed compliment engine power characteristics. This clutch is operated by a hydraulic master cylinder instead of a cable. The hydraulic clutch design is low maintenance, self adjusting and stylish too. Low-maintenance belt drive system not only significantly reduces maintenance but is also clean and quiet. A belt drive system uses less power than a shaft drive and reduces unsprung weight for great rear suspension performance. The belt is embedded with carbon fibre cords for incredible strength and durability Easy access, spin-on type oil filter means fast, easy oil changes.
CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
High tech, cast aluminium double-cradle frame reduces weight, while balancing strength and rigidity. The engine is rigidly mounted in the frame for added rigidity. The critical head pipe area features box type construction for additional strength. The frame not only provides excellent handling characteristics but also compliments the beautiful flowing lines of the entire machine. The open area behind and below the steering head helps to enhance that "chopper inspired" styling image. The main front wire harness is hidden in the head pipe for a clean appearance. Important Note: Raked out front fork with lots of trail generally provides good straight line stability but often results in heavy steering. The engineers at Yamaha will not sacrifice handling for styling, so they have developed a 6 degree yoke offset angle combined with a 34 degree steering head for a total fork angle of 40 degrees. The Raider provides light "athletic handling and easy steering" not commonly found on a custom styled bike. This bike was designed to be ridden !! Key numbers: 6 degree yoke offset angle; 34 degree caster angle; 102mm of trail. Lightweight C.F. die cast aluminium swingarm offers superb rigidity and ensures excellent stability and handling. The C.F. die casting process allows for beautiful shapes that are both strong and light. This swingarm is a fashion statement in aluminium and compliments the rest of the Raider eye catching styling. Rigid 46mm Kayaba front fork offers 130mm (5.1") of wheel travel for exceptionally stable handling and great ride comfort. The inner fork tubes are protected by stylish chrome chip guards. Beefy, cast aluminium, top triple clamp and computer designed lower triple clamp with a 6 degree yoke angle provides excellent handling qualities while maintaining that custom chopper inspired styling. Link rear suspension features a spring preload adjustable single rear shock delivering outstanding ride comfort and precise handling. The Kayaba shock is horizontally positioned under the engine lowering the centre of gravity for great handling. The shock is hidden to provide that classic "hardtail" look. Rear wheel travel is 90mm (3.5"). Powerful dual 298mm floating front discs are squeezed by ultra rigid, 4-piston, monoblock calipers to provide sport-bike spec stopping power with great lever feel and feedback. Beautiful custom looking 5-spoke cast aluminium 21" front wheel provides a special styling highlight. The width is 3.50 inches wide and is fitted with a 120/70 profile tire. The rear wheel is also a custom inspired 5-spoke 18 inch cast aluminium mag design that is 7.5 inches wide. This rear wheel carries the widest rear tire ever installed on a Yamaha motorcycle … it is a 210 / 40 tire. Both wheels are fitted with tubeless tires. Large 310mm rear disc is squeezed by a single piston caliper mounted below the swingarm for a lower center of gravity and that customized "hidden look". Two-piece seat design features a deep notch in the rider seat to give that chopper inspired riding position … more sitting in than sitting on. The rear portion of the rider's seat also doubles as a backrest / back support for the rider. 60/55w headlight with unique custom inspired styling can be adjusted up and down and left or right . Steel fenders front and rear can be easily customized or painted to suit personal preferences. Custom styled one piece rear fender mounts. Flangeless teardrop style main fuel tank offers 12 litres of capacity. There are no welds visible, providing that clean, custom look. Total fuel capacity is 15.9 litres thanks to a 3.9 litre sub tank located low in the frame below the seat. A high pressure electric fuel pump with quick connect fittings provides fuel to the EFI system. Large 1.25" diameter handlebars. All electrical wires are hidden inside the handle bars for that clean custom look. Selected meter functions can be controlled by buttons on the back of RHS switch gear. Classic fuel tank mounted instrument panel. This comprehensive instrumentation includes an analogue speedo, and fuel gauge with low fuel warning light, plus a digital odometer, dual tripmeters, fuel reserve trip counter and clock. Background illumination can be adjusted to suit personal preferences. Reset buttons are located on the instrument panel while the select switch is located on the left hand switch gear so you can tab through the various functions without removing your hands from the handlebars. Extra wide, brake and clutch levers provide that quality feel and look. Brilliant LED rear tail light not only uses less power but is also more durable than a conventional bulb design.
